If you are a nontraditional student living in Virginia, who wants to attend either Marshall University or Marshall Community and Technical College, then applying for this scholarships for moms is a must.

This scholarship will be awarded to 15 nontraditional students and is worth $8500 a year.

To qualify for this scholarships for moms, you must be majoring in engineering, geospatial science, physics, or mathematics.

The unique opportunity, known as the Trailblazer Scholars Program, was made possible through a four-year National Science Foundation grant worth $586,500. This grant has been designed to assist those who might struggle with their finances. But if they receive the scholarship, then they will not have to borrow as much money to cover the costs for living or day-to-day expenses.

Scholarships for Moms in Indiana

Deadlines are approaching for scholarships for moms in Indiana offered by Delaware County Extension Home-makers.

These scholarships for moms include:

  1. The Ruth B. Sayre Scholarship. This scholarship is worth $500 and the deadline for applications is February 15th. To qualify, you must be a woman and a legal resident of the United States. You must also show a financial need and the ability to complete your education. Applications must be sent to Jean Hitcock, 900 S. Royal Ave., Evansville, Ind. 47713.

  2. The Marie B. Bowen Memorial Scholarship, which is worth $500. and the deadline for applications is March 15th. You must be a senior in high school or older and a resident of Delaware County. Scholarship is available here.

  3. Indiana Extension Homemakers Association Career Advancement Scholarship, which is worth $500. This scholarship is being offered to Indiana Homamakers, age 25 and older. Applications must be postmarked by March 15th and sent to Gloria Del Greco, 18448 Eagletown Road, Westfield, Ind. 46074.

  4. Jill Park Bell Scholarship, which is worth $1,000 and is given by Robert and Janice Park in memory of their daughter, Jill. You must be a high school senior or graduate of an accredited high school and you must be an active member of a Delaware County 4-H Club and must have completed at least five years of 4-H. Applications are due March 30th and are available here.

Scholarships for Women in Michigan

The American Association of University Women is offering scholarships for women who live in Michigan and are currently completing their sophomore year or higher in a higher education setting.

To qualify, you must be a Jackson County woman, who is pursuing a four-year degree at an accredited Michigan university or college. You must also have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and have some leadership abilities through extracurricular activities or work.

There will be two awards of $1000 each and applications must be postmarked before March 15, 2010.

Scholarships for Sorority Women

The Delta Theta Chi Sorority is offering scholarships for women right now. There are three scholarships to be given Two for $3,000.00 each and one in the amount of $1,400.00, for students are being accepted by DELTA THETA CHI SORORITY, a national non-collegiate educational sorority.

In order to qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a high scholastic average, evidence of financial need, and currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college. These scholarships are awarded annually to students of promise and distinction.

Scholarships from DuPont

The DuPont plant in Louisville is accepting applications for a scholarship program that was formed due to a class action lawsuit filed against the company. If you live within two miles of the DuPont plant in Louisville and did not opt out of the lawsuit, then you may be entitled to a scholarship.

This scholarship will be awarded to any adult with a high school diploma or GED and wants to attend an institution of higher learning.

Scholarship for Moms in Philadelphia

Scholarships are being offered by GlaxoSmithKline in the amount of $5000 to the winner.

This scholarship, being called the Opportunity Scholarship, is open to Philadelphia residents who have overcome significant adversity. This could include domestic abuse, a significant illness, sexual abuse, etc. Applicants must be enrolled in a two-year or four-year undergraduate program in a state university or community college in Philadelphia.

Applicants must be a US citizen but can be of any age.

Applications for scholarships for next fall will be available on the Philadelphia Foundation’s Web site in January and due March 15.
