Scholarships for Moms - Florida Has Grants for Beauty School

Are you a looking for scholarships for moms for beauty school? Well, if you live in Florida you my be in luck.

Eight Tampa Bay area cosmetology and massage schools have received more than $2.3 million in federal economic stimulus grants. This will pay the tuition for those wanting to get an education in hair dressing, massage, and nail technicians.

This financial aid comes in Pell Grants, which are awarded to low-income students. The grants don't have to be repaid and are paid directly to the schools to cover the cost of tuition and supplies.

The grant awards include more than $1 million to Manhattan Beauty School in Tampa, $250,000 to Bene's International School of Beauty in New Port Richey and $280,000 to Sun State College of Hair Design in Clearwater.

But this is not the only state in which you can get scholarships for moms wanting to go to beauty school. There are also other scholarships available to help offset tuition:

  1. Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship: Applicants are evaluated for their potential to successfully complete school, their financial need, and their commitment to a long-term career in cosmetology. This scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1000 and deadline is June 1st of the given year.

  2. Alice Madden Barton Cosmetology School Scholarship Program:This is a Great Clips scholarship give out twice a year and deadlines are June 30th and December 31st of the given year.

  3. OPI Scholarship: The Schaeffer Family Foundation selects one deserving Nail Technology/Manicuring program student monthly for a $500.00 scholarship at preferred OPI schools, and offers scholarships to Cosmetology students as well!

  1. If I got this grant, I would go for getting a florida cosmetology license. This is one of the fields wherein a woman or a mom who enjoys hair styling her kids can earn money out of it.
