Photography Scholarship from Alexia Foundation

___________________________________________________________________________________

The Alexia Foundation is accepting applications for the 2010 scholarship. This photography scholarship is much more than that. You do not have to be an extraordinary picture taker. This is not an portfolio contest, but rather a contest on the best photo story, picture essay, or photo-documentary project that explains your idea for a set of pictures that will promote world peace and cultural understanding.

If you are creative with photography and words, this could be the scholarship for you. There are examples of past winners on the website, which will give you some idea of what they are looking for. Also on the site there are the full rules.

Applications must be received by February 1, 2010 to be eligible.

The winner of the scholarship will receive a full scholarship ($15,000) to study photojournalism in London for the fall semester through Syracuse University Abroad. There is also other smaller scholarships that will be awarded.

If interested, go here to find out more about this scholarship.
