The Soroptimist International is offering Scholarships for Women who are the primary breadwinners of their family, have a financial need, and are currently enrolled or have been accepted to a vocational or undergraduate degree program.
The deadline for these Scholarships for Women is December 15, 2009, however, you must turn in your application to your local chapter by December 1, 2009, in order for the scholarship application to be received by the Soroptimist Headquarters in time. Applications cannot be sent directly to the headquarters.
Currently, each Soroptimist region grants one first-place award for $5,000. (Note: most regions grant additional $3,000 awards.) The 28 first–place recipients then become eligible to receive one of three $10,000 finalist awards.

During my florida cosmetology ce study time, I was able to meet some women who are the bread winners of their families during the exam for the license and I have to say that there are a lot of mom's out there with really great potential in the different industries out there and can really use some help like this.
